Just curious if any of you experienced fisherman have tried running trot lines and catfish jugging from your pirouge. I rigged up about 7 catfish jugs weighted at 10 feet and baited 2 feet from the bottom and a 25' casting trot line (whatever you want to call it) and will run these the next...
After my critical failure at Big Alabama Bayou I finally got around to fixing up my pirouge this weekend.
I dare this (insert explicative cursing here) to fail me now. 8)
If I had used the UJ chair from the beginning I wouldn't have had this problem. I'm going to force myself to...
I reckon' once I repair the damage I'll try my UJ seat again. The only time I tried it was shown in that video and I was dead center(if not forward of center) of the pirogue. I'll report back on it once I make repairs and re-deploy.
Well that was an eventful trip. Nothing much to say about the fishing. I think the local WLF must have restocked it recently given all the inch long catfish I saw along the bank and the 2 or 3 3" long brim and 5 inch long bass I caught. I had a 3 foot alligator chase after my cork and got...
Have any of you tried using a coffee pot called a french press? You dump the coffee grounds and hot water in and after a 5 minute steep you press the plunger down and a metal mesh screen separates the grounds from the water. I know space is everything when you're camping so not sure if this...

I don't think you're going to have a problem working with Epoxy after working with Poly. So long as you ordered the pumps so you can mix your ratio
correctly. Also, are you going with a slow or medium hardner?
 So true. Of course if you travel south where the shrimpers live they usually sell their DOA shrimp for a couple dollars a pound. Live shrimp, on the other hand, is $3.50 a dozen. :o
Re: report on the another Pirogue Expedition
Looked like you guys had fun, glad I wasn't there. First boat load of water and I would have turned around and gone home.
Well these camo patterns couldn't be anymore dangerous than my brown pirogue. Brown water...brown boat... talk about camouflage. These patterns/color variations should make me stand out and easier to see.
With it being memorial day holiday and all I had a passing thought (and will likely go through with it) that when I get to the stage of painting this vessel I'm going to dazzle it.
There's a plethora of other patterns here: http://www.risd.edu/dazzle/
All joints filleted - most of the excess sanded - mock fitted the braces and the front/rear decks. Not sure whether or not I am going to make the decks accessible or just close them in. Also took an inch out of the UJ seat.
Sorry I missed this thread earlier but welcome! And what these guys say around here are right. Once you build one you'll be itching to build another. I built a JEM 14-29 Pirouge, started in February. Took her out for a test run in March and started building another boat in April. :D I'm...
