    Boats with a Flair

Thanks guys for all the info. Gives me a lot to study on and play with. I'd have to come down your way to get any of those things. We have Catfish and Crappie. Lets see, 4' pirogue filled with catfish and crappie fillets, and hushpuppys. Not quite crawfish, but it would work! :lol...

    Boats with a Flair

Mat, looking at it from the other way, your saying that two hulls of the same design, one with more rocker and flare than the other, loaded with the same weight, the one with less rocker would pull less draft, right? Thanks Richard

    Boats with a Flair

I noticed on the picture example seedtick posted above that there is a lot of ark for 35 deg. flair. Is there a formula for this, as in (for example) an inch of ark nullifys (sp?) 5 deg of flair? Or is it not that simple. I noticed that the sides in seedticks example didn't seem to be the same...

    Boats with a Flair

On more than on thread Keith has brought attention to the amount of flair in the side of his pirogues vs. other designs like Uncle Johns. My question is how does the amount of flair affect the boat, in particular a pirogue. I'm guessing how much you put in would depend on intended use and...

    Survival kit.......group design

In the medical portion I would put a small tube of super glue. It can be used as a waterproof liquid bandage to keep dirt out and nasty water out of a wound, it can be used as suctures, or minor equipment/shelter repairs. Richard

    Tales from Lake LeBarge....

If you like that poem look for a book I believe is titled "Tales From the Yucon" by Robert Service. I shop Barnes and Nobel or Amazon on line, they both have used book sections where you can find just about anything you want in out of print books. Robert Service's poems about the Yucon and Gold...

    Another homemade hammock-- take 2

All the talk on here got me curious about hammocks this summer. I'm not prone to laying on my back, and didn't know if I would like one. I bought a CHEAP 10 x 12 tarp, folded it to make a 10 x 6, gathered and whipped the ends and hung it between a shed post and a tree. My grandson (1 yr.old) and...

    smoothing fiberglass

This has been talked about quite a bit. I think most of these guys are going to say a good quality carbide paint scraper. I think the sander is way to much overkill. Richard
