Ok guy's this build is winding down now!  I am all but done and will post finale pics and maiden voyage as soon as I get them. For now these are of the very well designed and sturdy chair for the pirogue that The Chuckmiester and UJ supplied us with. All it needs is a finish sand and...
Thanks for the reply scooter, I will probably just epoxy saturate and maybe put a little varnish over that on my chair.
I can't wait to see the paddle when your done.
I understand the lighter shorter boat thing if you are lifting the boat yourself. that ought to be a good size and...
What a beautiful hierloom you have made for your daughter to enjoy and pass on to her kids some day. It is very stunning with all the work you did on the breasthooks. I know your proud, and should be!! Great job Zeb.
Double what Mick said for me too! That is one nice shop. I would love to come down and see it in person and pick your brains for awhile! You guys got it good and I think you know it! Great place and thanks for sharing!
Hey there Scooter, Your paddle looks great and it is going to match the boat well. You should glass for sure on such a nice paddle. I would also epoxy the tips with wood flour epoxy mix as well. I'm sure you were going to do that anyway. what is pirogue #2 gonna be like?
I have a question...
Hey Piper, I guess........................................Your going to get a lot of smart arse answers from some of the guy's. I could be wrong but you seem to have left the door wide open. I bet Matt will give you some good numbers though!
Have fun on your date with the sander! It...
That nasty four letter word sure is being thrown around a lot here! You know the one that begins with W and ends with retirement, hopefully! Lets try to keep it to a minimun guy's the geezzers don't like to be told of such stories of long ago!!!
I sure am Mick! I love that boat almost as much as you do and that's only because of your wonderful reports on it. So any more additions would be welcome here! As I remember you already installed the hardware needed to accept the lines? Now the fun part making an aquadynamic shape for the...
Don't worry TG someone will hijack this thread under the guy's of helping you out. But as I'm sure you've read there is plenty of that to go around here and B.S. deep enough at times to float your PEEEE-UUUU I mean ROW in!
Welcome my friend!
Chad
Oh I almost forgot if...
Thanks Kieth your talent is in another league!
Consider it DONE Chuck. I got plenty of info from Uncle John's site as well and as you said he is the designer! It would be my pleasure to have the pics posted there as well and give credit where it is due. As a matter of fact two of your boats...
Thanks Chuck, It means alot coming from you! I hope others take as much from this website and add to it as well. I know I have.
I thought the round disc spacers would serve a dual purpose! save some weight and being round nothing for the ropes to catch or drag on. Also leaves more...
Got her close to done. I have glued in the decks and all the inwales then made lots of shavings with the surform getting them shaped. Now i'm in the process of sanding and filling any gaps and then more sanding. but I can see the build part coming to an end. I still need to grafite the bottom...
FlaMike, Just make say a 3oz batch or whatever amount and add the acetone in a splash at a time AFTER you added the hardener and mixed. It will be as thin as you want by adding more or less but a slash goes a long way. Have fun!
Thanks for the comparison on the two as you see it. In the future this is a boat I would be interested in very much. I have no stitch and glue experiance at all. I would have to check out the tutorial and ask a lot of questions. Do you think Matt would sell the plans to me as well?or is he going...
That should work great Taw! It's just flippin her over that you can run into trouble.
Yeah bear, my wife still want's to put her car back in the garage! soon my dear, soon! That's what I keep telling her anyway!
Bloody splended report Mick! I knew you would come back with some more great piccies and a great story or two. I cannot wait til I get to do the same. Thanks for the posts.
