I would have to say this build was a push to make myself finish it. Although I was determined to make it look bettter than the others.

What are the thickness of the strips?
What glass weights did you use on the out and insides?
I had no problems epoxying and glassing the white oak stems on my first kayak.
It would depend on the radius of the bend if you would have to steam bend it or not, but a piece of PVC pipe and a kettle works great for that.
They were 1/4" thick strips.

All the finishing work on the ends is done off the mold. (fiberglass tape out and kevlar cloth in) I sold mine and the other is still in use. I built them both around 15 years ago. Thanks for the info

What materials do you use on your boats that only cost around $150.00. Cloth weights and how much e-poxy? Strip thickness (1/4" or 3/8")?
