I like the idea of a vee bottom on a pirogue, but I'm not sure about the strength of a tumblehome when using a roof rack. What would be the best way to car top a Touring TV pirogue?

As Matt has said, you could add some braces under where the tumblehome panel rests on the racks. I have never felt the need to do that on my Touring Pirogue-T. That panel is very strong as it is.

you really don't need any additional braces if you have the thwarts installed. But like Jimmy said, you can certainly add some but I'd wait until after you've built it and tried it out on your roof racks.
