The design you came up with would be the same as a hot knife cutting threw warm butter , no resistance.

The Coho I have is about the same when it comes to waves , it just slices threw them and looks for more but that is what it was designed to do. Different boats for different uses.

Installed hatches a few weeks back. Kinda scary cutting into those pretty decks. I decided against the classic cross pattern for the hatch bungees in favor of the easier access of the straight across pattern. The bungees are VERY tight and secure. I put in a loop for easy , one- handed access.

I reused the deck hardware from Pipers kayak, giving it a new life.
