First coat of varnish on in <20 minutes. Wow, what a difference a roller makes. Rolled then tipped. I'm happy.

Thanks. I used luan which only had one finished side. I put that side out. The other side was not completely uniform, had some patches. After I glassed the inside, I painted it with Pettit Marine Paint Shipendec (got it on sale from West Marine), color 3303 - Dull Dead Grass.

Here's a picture when I was testing the paint. You can see some of the patches in the outer (interior) verneer.
