Here are a few pictures from a fly fishing trip I took to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in October 2006. The fish didn't cooperate, but the scenery was excellent even though we missed the peak colors.

Momma bear. I feel lucky as we saw about 10 bears. A guy from North Carolina that has fished the park all his life told me he has yet to see a bear.
The view from the Clingman's Dome parking lot. Got lucky here too. According to the display at the observation deck, the visibility usually isn't too good. The display had a picture of the view you would have on an exceptionally clear day. As luck would have it, I must have been there on a most exceptionally clear day as the view was better than the picture.
