Got a question for some of you older geezer farmers, had some pretty 6 inch high Irish potatoes. Until winter 22 degrees. Hit this morning, will they sprout back out or are they toast?
Good for you. Lately, I've been growing freeze dried potatoes. Golden Griddle hash browns fall offa the vine in a big, cardboard box. Good with eggs along side them.
I know. As a kid, one of my jobs (along with straightening out old, bent nails) was knocking potato bugs off into a 1 lb coffee can (made of metal in those days) with some kerosene in it. Weeding lettuce, rsdishes, and tomatoes was another pastime.
Lord god - new potatoes are sweet, tender, and crispy. Along with new peas a real spring treat. May have to substitute Oregon sugar pod peas? Or, dried beef gravy on those new potatoes.
There aren't any bad ways to enjoy those babies.
