Jack, those air BB guns (sk) can't handle a 50 cal sized round like the muskets...

Would only "T" off those 650 pound black bears around there.

The areas now up for consideration are:
1) Quentico
2) UP Wilderness'
3) Canadian wilderness about 70 miles north of the Soo.

#2,3 are lest cost and less time to get to and have the same type wilderness... ( even more by some considerations)

There are now 8 in the group with one in reserves.
High sheriff has hired me to escort him through the yankee lines without harm to his bag of gritz.

We've go a group limit of ten now interested/maybe s .
Since ten is the limit to a group allowed in Parks any more interestest can make up a second group. Perhaps one going here and another going there... This is getting interesting to say the least.
Having to wait for more information on others plans to get a handle on the "wheres".
The dates are looking at 1) Canada meeting the weekend after Labor Day
2) Sept 17 ( Friday) this date is AFTER the need to get permits ( this actually applies to any Park USA or Canada, as the amount of people going into them are small and thus not a heavy amount on one camp site. Think envioromental inpack)

Sunday will offer more insites.

Update: The group is getting excited about this fall.
May ask Chuck to change this to "Lake Superior Prov. Park" trip.
Canadian maps haven't arrived yet ( been over a week on order).
But, have gathered some fine URLs to look at the area and other information. I've mailed out this info to the group.
We have added another paddler to the group this past week. Room for more now as we study the regulations and especially when we can create more than one group in the park.
Groups seem to be created for portagers and non-portagers. Which is cool. This area is remote and wild. Speaking of wild, several trip reports from this area speak of wildlife abuntant! That's what I wanted!
Give me an e-mail and I'll send what info we have now.
We will meet all together at the start in the park on the 10th of Sept.
From there we should already know who we will paddle with.
Even if one wishes to stay in the main campgrounds at Beaver CG they'll be able to hike many places and see wonderful sites.
But the time to meet many here on the forum and especially see the two founders of the forum under one roof will be a hoot in itself.
The days can be planned individually or with others. That leaves it open to anyone interested in coming that week. Some of us have more time to do other paddles or stay inside this park longer.
There ae ten of us now. Of that ten, there maybe two "maybe"s .
All in all there stands about 7-9 canoes envolved with the paddle.
