Anybody have any condition reports from the Okefenokee. Thinking about doing a trip this winter, but I know the swamp has been through a lot the last couple of years with fire and drought.
Bill Logan at http://www.canoe-suwannee.com/ keeps a water report on the Suwannee and since the swamp feeds it , it is a good indicator on the water in the swamp.
Right now the river is at 51.22 which is extremely low water so the swamp has to way down. My guess is that right now a lot of the trails are closed.
If they get a tropical storm or even a hurricane then the water would be up and with some luck they might get one before the cooler weather sets in.
I have been wanting to get back in there for the last three years and there never is enough water to paddle it. :evil:
