OK .. I'm Back.
Bet you never missed me and YES I have been gone for a while.
Took my once every 7 year's vacation and really relaxed.
Arrived at this real fancy place with a 8:00AM appointment ... ORMC North Tower.
( got there at 7;30 A.M )and a little after 11:00 A.M. was escorted from the registration area to the ready room where I meet a really nice lady who shaved me and wiped me down with an alcohol disinfectant.
Then this other lady came in and set me up with an IV kit so I would not have to drink anything , they just put the drink of the day in a large bag and hang it so gravity delivers it directly to a vein.
My appointed time to be whittled on was set at 12:30 P.M. but things got confused so it was moved over to 3:30 P.M. Anyway everyone released the mistake and surgery proceeded as suggested.
We had a grand time and before I knew it they were strapping my arms down and I was out like a light then waking up in a different room.
Now they are talking about sending me up to the 5th floor for a overnight observation period.. Yippee , I might actually get something to eat and actually drink.
The lady that welcomed me was really nice and got me one huge and really good Egg Salad Sandwich with dill pickles and onions followed up with a big oatmeal cookie.
Now that is a trick you should of seen , the one arm with the IV and disabled to a degree with the right arm and upper chest all bandaged and told to not use it made eating that sandwich ( lying in the bed ) a trick to do without making a mess , but you can bet I did it and every last crumb from it.
From there on it was just a matter of showing everyone I was breathing on my own , could see ( Ha Ha , Sharon took my glasses home with her so everything was sort of fuzzy ) The heart rate normal and then the representative of the defibrillator came in and double checked it as to its functions and settings. More of this and that and before I knew it they were going to throw me out so I called Sharon and told her I was being evicted and needed a ride home.
My old defibrillator after 7 years needed to be replaced and now I have a new one , fully charged. Just can not use the right arm for a couple of weeks and have to see the doc in two weeks and then 4 weeks.
Chuck.
