Long term experiment

I have been kicking around a bug out survival type unit. I want to see if I can make this unit a fully functional long term self contained unit. It will also be a hunting yaking and a general man cave .
I bought this a few weeks ago.

Specs are a 7 by 14 v nose 7000 capacity , back ramp.

This will be a long term project.

Looking forward to see how it comes together. Is the Casita too nice for the purposes you have in mind for this one?

I love the Casita, but it really want do the job I need this one to do.
I am going to use this as a test vehicle to try a lot of things for long term use ,solar,composting toilet, be able to convert it for three folks to stay in on a hunting trip and it is also my smoke room. Oh and reloading setup will be incorporated into it.

Looking forward to the construction and modification reports and progress of the trailer.

I can see an canvas or nylon fold out top over the rear ramp when it is open ,

probably some mosquito screening on the sides and back so there is weather protection and the availability to catch any breeze that comes along.

Or just one large tarp that would extend out over each side and past the end of the tail gate when opened. The tail gate up horizontal off the ground would make a nice patio area.
Then some Mosquito netting closing off the end of the trailer to keep any bugs out when sleeping.
Heck there are a lot of things that can be done......... Have Fun.

I did a little to the trailer yesterday,bathroom walls framed and cover with 1/4 ply on the inside.



cut the ply for the countertop





I am laying this out as I go (winging it).

OK , Stop complaining and get busy sanding. You took a break from building boats a while back and all my stock in Sand Paper took a nose dive. Order in more sand paper and get my Sand paper stock back to where it should be. :lol: :lol: :lol:

I am having fun with this build and the way I am using a cargo trailer and the material I am putting in it it should last a long time.
One of my goals is to keep it campable while I am doing the build.

Little more progress applied a couple coats of poly to the counter top



installed most of the paneling.

I decided to start on the table. Framed it up and striped it



This cedar seems to be a lighter color ,might turn darker as I get several coats of poly on it.

This trailer is 6 ft 2 inch . But you can get them 6 ft 6 in or 7 ft tall.
I am having fun with this project.

It always amazes me how you can take some scrap wood like this




and start turning it into something like this



and this


and all it takes is a few tools and a little time. couple more steps and I will have the cabinet doors ready to install.

Not to shabby for scrap wood.
