Kevlar???

OK so I bought some kevlar to wrap the ends of my pirogue to protect it from all the oysters in the area I frequent. The problem is I can't cut it! It's like this stuff is bulletproof.

So what do I do to cut it? :?
Hope the kevlar was a good idea anyway???

usually you buy the Kevlar felt for that.

Kevlar fabric usually requires special scissors to cut it. As you've experienced, a regular pair of scissors is no match for it! I've heard if you get a really sharp and sturdy pair, they cut it ok with some effort.

It's like this stuff is bulletproof.

Could be why they make bullet-proof vests out of it.

Google kevlar shears to find cutting tools, expect to pay about $50 for 'em.

May want to just go with an extra strip or 2 of 6oz cloth or a strip of dynel cloth, and then a graphite/epoxy coating on top of either of those options.

I've had good luck with a sharp pair of sewing shears. Just cut slowly and deliberately.
