Grasshopper and I

Well, Grasshopper and I left for our favorite piece of paradise after he got out of school Thursday(I let him play hooky Friday). Perfect Fall weather here in Southern Illinois. Kept a fire going quite a bit of the time. Got to visit with some old friends and make some new ones down at the boat house. The highlight of the trip was Grasshopper catching 10 good channel cats. I've caught my share in my life and I let him do the catching. He told me he was so excited he felt like screaming like a little girl :!: :lol:
He took his catch down to the boathouse and our friend Ernie(ex Navy cook, he and his wife Betty have invited me to grub more than once ) Took a Polaroid picture of Grasshoppers Fish and put it up on the bulletin board. Got home yesterday afternoon. Wish we were there now. :cry:

Memories

It's all about memories, I know he loves what we do together but in years to come it will be the memories. I hope he carries on what I have taught him about fishing and camping and things like that. I can picture him now with his buddies,camping and fishing without me. Him in his grubby "Carhardt Coveralls". Maybe he'll say my dad taught me how to flyfish like this or rig a catfish line like this. Grasshopper sings to me allot. He loves to sing. He''s in the "Lab Choir" at school. 7th grade he is in now. Sports, you know about his love of sports. Every kind. He can be a little sh-t also. I just take some "Mallox" and move on.
