He is a very imaginative, and skilled builder. I almost expected to see two, or three, longitudinal slats glued along the center half of the floor. Dapper Al would likely have a keel strip glued along the mid portion of the outside. He likes a keel on his Puddle Ducks, and I would be cautious about protecting the central bottom of that thin hull.

The need for accuracy in cutting those gores is impossible to over emphasize. A sixtyfourth of an inch difference would be bad.

A beautiful, very light weight hull.

Radisson canoes are done in aluminum with that method of forming. They leave the welds a bit rough and paint it to resemble a bark canoe. The gauge of the metal is extremely thin.

They always impressed me as a boat built in a dirt floor garage.

By a guy who made it through third grade - the second time.

Who drank a case of beer while building the boat.

Only a case? Piker! Regardless, they sell a ton of them. I don't particularly care for the rough seams but the distortions are a part of the forming process. If the cuts were to be spaced as close as the cuts on the fly ply it would flow much more smoothly.
