OK, if soy sauce is made by letting soy beans sit and ferment and break down, and fish sauce is made by letting fish sit and ferment and break down, then I may be on to something new.
I was cleaning out the refrigerator last night and found some old-watermelon sauce, some boiled-peanuts sauce, some carrot sauce (in the bottom vegetable drawer) and the beginnings of some leftover-meatloaf sauce.
None of them smelled as good as the fish sauce, so i tossed 'em. Hope i did the right thing.
