How do y'all finish the prow/ends of your boats--specifically a canoe, with the distinctive round end--if they don't look quite right bare? I'd post pics, but camera's on fritz right now (it's the Iroquois from JEM).

Overall, the ends line up straight, and don't have voids, but the way the fillet material and some of the ply look, I don't think the end will look finished...not plain anyway.

Anyone try a strip of moulding or something to cover--suggestions???

For the ends themselves, I do a sort of exterior epoxy wood flour fillet then sand off so that it is nice and round.

Generally takes about 3 goes to properly fill out.

This pic also shows the triangular piece in the deck you asked me about mate. All it is, is the end pour or I would call it a big end fillet :D . I get the nice even rounded shape using a dremel. :D

If you are talking about the seam that goes around the stem ends, I fill it in with thickened epoxy. Wood flour and epoxy to the consistency of peanut butter, gob it on, smooth it down, sand it later.
