I stumbled upon a nice, fast grits recipe while scrounging through the fridge looking for something different for breakfast. I had a few pieces left of deer jerky that Piper sent home with me from the camping trip. I put my regular 3 tablespoons of grits, salt, butter, water and a half a handful of jerky pieces in a bowl and stuck it in the microwave. A few minutes later, the grits was cooked and the jerky had kind of melted a bit into the grits making a lovely gravy. YUUUUM EEE! I think this recipe will become my standard camp breakfast, along with maybe a fried egg or two.
