I don't know, Steve. We may have to kick this guy off the forum. His shop's way too neat and clean. The NERVE of some people's kids.
Just noticed, too. He even got sheetrock up in there. . . ain't that a tad bit ritzy fer a workplace?
Hoity toity dude, ehh? Well, he can save himself by spilling an ice cream cone or adult drink somewhere in the shop. Then, I'd forgive him, I guess, if I have to. :roll:

Ya got that right... It's nice to see an HONEST person on here for a change , hopefully some of that honesty might rub off on others ....

Jezeee... If you are younger then ... DIRT... then you are younger then most of us on here. Besides looking forward to camping trips , or a BIG ... bag of Prunes , they are good with a shot of Scotch , just ask Jack. :roll: the next thing that makes us really happy are those Government checks coming in every month.
Now you have to long in the tooth ( usually dentures) and way down that twisty , turning , sandy path to qualify for them and being the average age on here. :lol: :lol: :lol:
Me I'm still a youngster , have all my teeth , hate prunes , even Dr.Pepper sodas since they taste like prune juice. Scotch makes a good rust remover on metal before painting with Rust-O-Lum. But I do like those checks from my favorite Uncle , Sam. Only thing better is a big bowl of hot grits with some sunny side eggs on the top of them , YUMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmm

HOLY .... CHIT.... checking your home town .....You live in Baton Rouge... How in the heck do you get anywhere on I-10. Coming home it took me over 2 1/2 hours to get anywhere at the top speed of 2 mph on I-10 in the afternoon. I could not get off 10 fast enough and find a motel till things quieted down and in the morning to make my ESCAPE up 12.
Partial credit since sheetrock aint painted - but deductions again cause it is finished...
CrkdLtr, wait til I get back on my touring pirogue build, I may have to keep my pic shots tight or I might be the next one.
Shop has lots of potential but in reality is a storage building for all of my wife's stuff we hauled when relocated. Been a year and a half now... I'm sure there's some rule somewhere that states after that long with no use it can start disappearing.
I'll let you guys know how that goes. :lol:
BTW, you must got it bad, it hasn't even been a month since you built your first boat has it - cool. Mick better watch out or his fleet may start looking awfully slim.

Took a little break from the new boat (yes already). I had to do some upgrading to my trailer so I could accommodate my new toys. So I dub this my Toy Hauler.
I've still got a few more things left to finish. (1) I'm going to paint the whole trailer with Rustoleum Lacquer Semi Gloss Black. (2) I'm thinking about taking the rear gate, removing the stake pockets and making it a drop down tail gate like a truck. (3)I need to add some foam padding to the cross members so when I transport the pirogue(s) they won't shift side to side. (4)I'm going to move that trailer jack across to the other side and forward some so I can put a rubbermaid bin on the cross member of that a frame.
Of course with the cross members the pirogue sit on are only 48" wide from stake to stake. If I am going to transport 2 pirouges in the future I will will have to add some kind of divider and then I'll have to lay the boats diagnoally against the divider. Maybe I could take a second pair of 2x4's and cut them about 72" long, cut off the extra 4" on the side stakes and lay the 72" pieces on top and let 12" overhang on both sides. That should give me sufficient room for two pirogues. Eh..I'll burn that bridge when I get there. At least now I can transport my boat, the Mrs. bike and my own as well as a bulk of our camping gear. Now the car won't have to be packed so tightly.

Livin' close ta the Big Muddy, the Achafalaya 'n more bayous than ya kin shake a stick at, I dont figger ya git on one of Ole Ike's highroads when ya head out fer a paddle.....so them straps oughta do jest fine, but if ya ever hit warp speed, they will hold that boat better if they went down ta the bar, rite next ta the edges of the boat, instead of out ta them outside bars.
If ya kin git some ole fire hose, it makes a good pad on them cross bars.....so ya dont scuff up the gunwales.

If ya can't get fire hoses, gator skins'll do. Got a natural non-skid grip. Or, maybe Chuck can catch and skin one of those anacondas running (slithering) around central Florida. One skin would do the whole trailer.:lol:

Well, I guess, Crooked Letter,that you're just going to have to settle for fire hose. Those swamp boys remind me of the one Bob Newhart interviewed. Seems the guy wouldn't wrassle a gator - said he'd maybe wrassle a chicken? And I had my heart set on a snake skin boat mount for ya.
If Jack wants to give you a snake skin for your trailer , I can hook him up with the original occupant and let him get it from the owner for you. :lol: :lol: :lol: Those big boys can wrap and twist around things way to easy and there hug just takes your breath away .... forever.
Personally I found the foam (insulated) pipe covers at the home Depot or Lowe's does a great job on protecting a boat. The pipe covers can be used on the gunnels of the boat or over the cross members on the trailer.
