Started my kayak this week and am presently in the process of rough sanding the bottom.
Building with Sinker Cypress strips and using Tiger Maple/Cocobola highlights.
All with no staples (no holes)
Will be posting updates with pics later

Hey Guys,
How much ya want to bet he don't graphite the bottom.
Swampwood,
I have looked at untold pictures of strip built boats and have never seen a boat with accent striped in the bottom like you have. That is outstanding.

You are right there will not be any graphite on the bottom, but there is carbon fiber inside at the bow and stem pieces.
Thanks for the wonderful comments.

Is that snazzy looking inlay on the bottom for the fish to see? I can't wait to see the top!

Kayak Jack,
Actually the bottom highlights (in theory) are at the water line. Was hoping that if the fish did see them they would jump in the boat. :?:
