    Bed Extension

Looks like I am not the only one who cuts PVC stakes to use as rod holders for bank fishing. I have a store bought bed extention. Comes out of the reese hitch for abut 5ft., makes a 90 degree bend up, and comes to a T-bar. I padded it with pool noodles. When I bought it, I told the wife...

FL. Skills Trip(long winded, I'm afraid).

Alas, I am not a big fish fan, either. Just like to catch them. The exception is Catfish. I do like them. Usually try to catch just one or two for supper. That is plenty.

    Hammock camping questions

I cannot take credit for the modification. I read about it somewhere, and it sure works nice. No, as of yet, I don't have the Hex fly, but I want it. So far have just wasted my funds on other issues...

FL. Skills Trip(long winded, I'm afraid).

Trick is to strike the axe on the scales, just like you do a flint. Will spark right up. Started up as a joke... "Hey this guy is hard enough to throw sparks..." BTW- speaking of gar, I could show you a neat trick for using his ribs to make primitive fishhooks.

Absolutly. We ate everything. They were allowed one MRE apiece to last the whole trip, just in case, but were encouraged not to eat it. I wouldn't let them use gigs or anything, and then only kept the largest specimens, and there was plenty of food to go around. I even learned a...

    A Few Random Pics.

Yikes! serated hypo needles... Oooh, that makes my skin crawl-just thinking about it. Glad you liked that. Story behind it was that one time a feller stated that you just couldn't use a big knife to properly do much of anything, and so the next year, I proceed to butcher a deer with my...

    Fishing Kayak questions.

I have tried and owned several different styles. The best were the Wilderness Systems Pamlico, Heritige featherlite 12ft and 14ft models. Now, I paddle a Liquid Logic Manta Ray 14ft. SOT and couldn't be happier. It is a bit slower than the others, but is so stable that I can swing my legs...

FL. Skills Trip(long winded, I'm afraid).

HA! I have this habit of forgetting that people can't read my mind, and don't automatically know what and who I know... forgive me. I took a crap load of pics, but these went best with the article. The group pic was at my Dad's place on the Chawtawhatchie. Probably didn't spell that...

    Hammock camping questions

Great minds think alike! I frequently use a stuff sack to stand/dress on, as I quickly discovered the sand/foot trash problem as well. I also use a clothes line made up of 3 braided pieces of bungee cord. It is about 6ft. long with paracord on each end to tie off with. I can hang stuff...

    Hammock camping questions

A short comment on what I did with mine was to take a Krill light and hang it by a small biner from the overhead line for soft light, that I could turn off when I wanted. Also, I took and made a small loop in the upper (head) end and attached a short stringer to my sleeping bag head. I have...

I know John. He's a pretty nice guy. Fairly down to earth. http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/4803/img0992ve2.jpg
