    A New Direction?

We just have to try very hard to keep our disagreements as civil as possible. That's a terribly challenging thing when it comes to politics. And it is even more challenging when you are on an internet forum and you are not eye to eye with the people you are talking to. There is a tendency, I...

    Cargo triler to camper conversion

Yeah, you won't likely get anywhere near capacity on that. I was thinking more about pulling it. The lighter the better, so long as it is set up to do what you want it to do. We have a 19ft Airstream that is a lot of fun, but I've often wished it was smaller and simpler. GBinGA

    Firewood or a boat?

That really is a great looking boat. My God but ya'll have some great looking water to boat and fish in out there. Get somebody to remove the snakes and I might move! George

    Cargo triler to camper conversion

Looking good! A friend of mine at church did one like this, and he has had a lot of fun with it. What is the height on your trailer? Any idea what you'll be shooting for on weight? George

    A New Direction?

Actually, I understand that feeling too. It wouldn't bug me too much if Chuck prohibited politics. But politics do come up, and unless the rules change, I'm gonna play along with everyone else. What I will do, or try to remember to do, is to tag my posts as "(political)" if that's what they...

    Firewood or a boat?

Looks like a winner to me. Plywood doesn't burn that well anyway, with all the paint and resin and whatnot. It's a good looking boat. GBinGA

    Pirogue build in Delaware

It's one-part, so you don't have to mix anything. It's waterproof, ok for exterior applications. Seems to be pretty strong. We've been griping about the mess and clean-up, but if it is an application where you can get an orbital sander on the squeeze-out, it is easier to sand than thickened...

    Pirogue build in Delaware

You are doing some sharp looking work! I had the same experience with Gorilla Glue. The stuff is useful, but clean up is about as fun as eating a bar of soap. I decided if I was going to put up with that much mess, I might as well just use thickened epoxy to glue with. Another irritating...

    A New Direction?

I think I speak for many of us in saying that we don't want to pay more taxes for something we don't want. And I repeatedly hear things that make me think they will try to ram through a health care reform bill without the public having a chance to review it. We have a serious problem with...

    A New Direction?

Keeps us honest. Wouldn't learn much if it was just a bunch of right wing NRA members sitting around agreeing with each other. :) We need somebody around to remind us that it's all a matter of opinion. GBinGA

    A New Direction?

Now I'm gonna go take my medication and a nap. :) By the way, Jimmy, I want you to know that I appreciate the intelligent and thoughtful way that you speak your mind. It must be pretty lonely in here when it comes to politics. I'm glad you speak up, though. I also want to say that I'll be...

    A New Direction?

That's a fair question. First of all, look back to the stimulus bills. They were passed in a hurry. They told us it was an emergency. That it had to be done right now so as to save the economy. I don't think I am far off base in saying that was a couple of outright lies. Stinking...

How Much Did Your UJ Cost?

Hard for me to guess. I had fg cloth left over from a previous project where the supplier sent me the tail end of a roll and I ended up with about three times as much as I paid for. And all my lumber was salvaged from jobsites. I know I probably spent about two hundred on epoxy, but part of...

    rudder for pirogue

I just wanted to mention that the safety lanyard on a motor boat is also an exception to the rule. Kills the motor if you go overboard, so the boat doesn't circle around and run you over. Of course those are specifically designed to come loose when the accident happens. George

    Cargo triler to camper conversion

http://www.fantasticvent.com/ Got one of their products in my camper. It's quiet, it moves a bunch of air, and it doesn't leak. Probably kind of expensive (came with the trailer, so I don't know) but I do know that it works. Will your battery box have any sort of ventilation? I'd be a...

    Never Kill a Black Snake.

 Excellent series! Makes you think about your attitude toward snakes. It is amazing to me the size of meal that a snake can eat. GBinGA

That is one of the more sensible things I've heard lately. I think a LOT of us can relate to that. G
