    TRR SUV (Cuda 18)

Re: TRR SUV Let's see, how many boats have to be in your fleet before you are officially a Commodore?   I need to get out of the trucking business and move back to Tejas and get in the plywood selling game around Ron's neighborhood!!  Can't wait to see it!

Stripped Freedom ( Boat got Slimed)

Re: Stripped Freedom Updated 3/10 Deck Pre-Coat I can't believe how fast it seems you are going. I really like the stripping on the deck. Looks cool. Do you think you'll be happy with the weight? I know it's really too early to tell for sure, yet. Looking great, though.

    hairies Okwata.

A little of both, I think. IN the Prowler, she has to use a longer and heavier paddle that she doesn't like. Otherwise, she bangs her knuckles. Like I said, she paddled a friends boat, that was a lot narrower, and now she wants a narrower boat. I was worried about the stability and the dog...

    hairies Okwata.

Wife just walked through the house and saw me looking at boats on her way out the door to go to work. She says she likes the Okwata dimensions, but wants it to look like "Jodie's T-V" that you built, Mick, but with the seat that tx river rat uses and good adjustable foot pegs. Geez  ...

    hairies Okwata.

Thanks again, MIck Unfortunately, my wife has paddled a friend's 15 foot boat (in plastic) and I can't seem to talk her into anything shorter. Oh, well. I am lucky that she likes to paddle with me, so I will get for her, or build for her, what she wants (very well trained...

    hairies Okwata.

If I built her an Okwata, or any boat for that matter, it would only be used in very light Class 1 easy rapids and flat lakes and rivers. The biggest thing we contend with is wakes from powerboats. She wants a super fast speed demon, but it need to be open so she can haul the dog comfortably...

    Ron, Look! Brazos River News

Re: That reminds me of my grandpa. I DON'T CONDONE OR RECOMMEND THIS, but it's funny. We were out in my Grandpa's little john boat, fishing, when the jet ski's began circling us trying to make really big wakes. They would come by, laugh, flip us off, and I really think they were...

    hairies Okwata.

Mick, Which is faster, the laker or the Okwata? I must admit, the Okwata jumped out at me when I saw it for the first time on Jemwatercraft.com. I really liked the looks of it. I wonder if it could be built more open, like say a decked pirogue? My wife wants a boat with a pirogue like...

Stripped Freedom ( Boat got Slimed)

Re: Stripped Freedom Updated 2/20 Fiberglassed Darell, that is one pretty hull. It sure seems like you are coming along at a fast pace. You sure are giving me the bug! My wife caught me looking at catalogs today for barns and sheet metal. Think she will figure out I am planning a...

    Baling wire??

Was that "calibration tool" or "clobberation tool"   Around here, my Dad and I have a running inside joke about a "baaaaaall peeeeeen" (slowest possible southern drawl added) solution to about all problems. Every time something needs a slight adjustment, we say "Hold on...

    Pirogue Re-entry?

Guess I should have mentioned that I'll be keeping a manual bulge pump with me to expel any water that is in the boat after re-entry. I like them better than simply bailing the water out.

    Pirogue Re-entry?

I was thinking that if you employed the same method as re-entering a sit on top, that you could get back in while only filling the boat with some water. I have done this on a Mad River Synergy 14 and a Native Ultimate 12, both of which are more hybrid canoe than kayak. THey don't have scupper...

    Pirogue Re-entry?

On all of the other kayak fishing boards I keep up with, a pretty big deal is made about your ability to re-enter your kayak. Since I am too fat, I practice this frequently so that I know I can do it if I need to. I have even gotten to where I will jump off the boat, a Sit-On-Top, and go for a...

    Baling wire??

I love that thing!! Thanks for posting it. I will probably continue to use my pliers around the place for most things. However, for lots of stuff around here, it will be great. I am ordering two. I am also going to put one in my tractor/trailer. I can see that thing saving me some real...
