Back in the 60's we had a guy living over on the Atlantic ocean side of Florida and he would using a foldboat kayak for off shore to catch sharks.
He would paddle several miles out to get behind a fishing or shrimping boat since the sharks liked to trail back of them picking up scraps and leftovers.
He went out from the Brevard Coast ( Space Port ) around the Play Linda area ( Titusville ) or up the coast a little further , Daytona.
He was always in the news with his catches , he would tire them out and then paddle back into the surf to release them and get a picture for his records. Some of the Sharks were a lot bigger then his Foldboat Kayak.
