I participated in this event as a kayak escort for one of the swimmers. This is the third year and the swim is a 5k to benefit fallen and injured Navy SEALS.
There is not a lot to say about the event other than it was awesome and moving. Once we completed the escort, we paddled back across the open bay. I had a lot of time to reflect. Before the start, they played the National Anthem and had a roll call for fallen SEALs. I was on the water and was almost moved to tears.
