Let me try again to hi jack JD's post. I failed picture reducing the other day but got it this try. Grandma Joyce thought she needed a lap board, didn't want to be left out so I made two. I've been saving a Luan scrap piece for years, finally used it.

Nice looking boards. What kind of finish?

Sanded through some of the veneer, to add contrast. one epoxy coat followed by a clear coat called toon brite. I"m thinking about tryng it on a boat.

I recently made a wooden mallet for a gift. I liked it and then got carried away. There was enough left over wood for a cutting board.

Easy project for cold days and scrap wood. I would probably make more but there isn't much interest in old school tools.
