I agree with Old Sparkey about paint. I have a ply and epoxy sea kayak I made 26 years ago, that I painted with Interlux two part paint. Extremely pricey, but it lasts a long time. I'm about to re-paint the sea kayak, and despite being stored outdoors on a rack for 26 years, the deck still likes good; only the sides and bottom are showing signs of UV degradation. I painted mine on with a brush, and it worked 100% as advertised.
