. . . anybody built one?

I've been going through Matt's website and, dude, you've got some fantastic canoes in there ! :D The Gander River must track like a freight train, but how does the long aft keel effect steering?

There's a couple members of the JEM forum who built and use her. Posting over there might catch their eye. I'll briefly address your question: The extend keel is actually an optical illusion. The lower hull is shaped like a basic canoe. The top aft end is flared out a bit for a transom.

Matt, is 4mm ply called for, or heavier?
