Sunday up and ready for some paddling since the sky was crystal clear and the weather was nice and cool. Just before we left the camp I located a 4 foot Copperhead under Swampys truck and invited the guys to come over and see the oversize worm Ha Ha Ha Ha. After the snake left the area and went into the woods we took out.
The woods to the north of the camp.
We contacted Scott at the outfitter's across the river from the park
and he ran us up to the Green Pond Church Landing so we could ease down the 8.6 miles to the park or his place. It was a really nice paddle and the river was moving along at about 3 miles per hour or slightly faster.
Starting out in the swamp
Swampy & Oldyaker
Oldyakers 1st time in a swamp.
The Edisto Main Stream
Taking a streatch break on the river bank.
Back at camp it was a delicious supper of Italian Sausage with cheese in it.
Monday Yak and Swampy put Swampys canoe in the river and paddled up stream to do some fishing while I was in camp waiting for Archie since he said he would come by Monday.
I took out on an aaron and when I returned to camp Archie was sitting there looking for me. We had a nice chat, some of Yaks Beef Jerkey when the guys showed up at the dock without any fish but wet. I will let them fill you in on that part .. The Wet part.
Italian hot dogs for lunch and then the rest of the of home made meat balls and spaghetti sauce for supper with some bread Swampy baked in the Backpacker.
Tuesday Morning ..... As Willie Nelson say's .. "On the Road Again" I sure will miss my padling partners , the great chow , the cool weather, the bright moon at night and the sound those Canadian Geese made when flying overhead.
