I posted this on JEM but thought I'd let you folks see it, too. Last weekend we camped in the Texas Hill Country out of Utopia, a truly beautiful place. I took a few pics to share with everyone. We went to Lost Maples State Natural Area, a truly great campground but at this time of year, way too hot to really enjoy.
This first pic is from an overlook on CR 337, the one Lance Armstrong trains on. If you ever drive to the top of this you'll see why Lance was so successful in the TDF.
The Hill Country is full of spring fed rivers and creeks, most gin clear and cool. Here's an example.
A section of the Sabinal River.
A Summer Taninger
Some of the local fauna, a Momma wild turkey and her babies
A pretty little philly
This badboy had an attitude to go along with his sharp horns.
The town lake in Utopia.
