It's not a recipe but a BBQ joint. Perhaps THE BEST DAMN BBQ I've ever had.

If you're anywhere near Taylor, TX (about 20 minutes out of Austin) and you don't go by and try it, may you be drawn and quartered with extreme prejudice!

I wish I had the recipe for the rub and the method of how they make it. But I imagine that's a matter of national security. Yes, it's THAT good!

Friend Matt,

Rachel Ray ate there when she wuz in Austin. If ya wanna knock down, drag out, argue barbecue in Texas. The Hatfields 'n McCoys come in 21st after barbecue showdowns.

Yea we saw a bunch of fire fighters in there for lunch.

I've been down to Austin 3 times now and will have to go about once every 6 weeks, give or take. These first trips, my time was pretty spoken for.

But the next go-arounds I can take a little for myself. A few folks I'd like to meet up with and say "hello" to. Maybe fly in on a Saturday morning instead of Monday.

Matt:
What do you do when you come to Austin? I live about an hour from the airport, let me know when you come to Austin again.

Yea that would be cool! Maybe make it a mini paddle day. Chuck from Duck Works said to give him a shout too.

Boats are a side gig for me. Still have the day job. My new company has it's headquarters north of Austin about 20 minutes. Last couple trips have been for training. Next times will be sales meetings and the like.

Seems like we do more drinking and eating than anything else! But it's a very sharp bunch and shop talk is mixed in with everything we do. It's weird... seems like we're goofing off the whole time but with the conversation and ideas getting explored a little at a time, gives us time to reflect, think, and fine tune. Then we celebrate! :p
