I found a couple good saw blades and decided to make a few knives from them, and here they are.

Skinner
6 1/4 overall 2 3/4 in blade
handles are laminated popular and cedar with black high lights between layers.
Blade has a mustard , vinegar patina

I have been carrying the straight point for the last week an I am impressed on how it holds an edge and cuts.
Thanks

That's all?! Just 4 more knives? Ron, you are a knifemaking machine. I like them. Good usefull designs. I go towards the shorter blades too. A sharp, short blade and a good machete and you're ready for anything.

Did you heat treat them? Most saw steel is tempered a little on the soft side for knife use. Still takes a good edge, just doesn't hold it for as long.

I temper all of the blades, The one I am carrying is holding an edge well ,I have been cutting leather for sheaths and it stays sharp.
