    Glades Skiff Build

I agree with Bob, wait until they are dry before you plane them. I also agree with beekeeper - put 'em in the attic to dry. The attic is like an energy-free kiln. Mike

    Raised Beds

Looks like a stink bug to me. Leaf Footed Bug I'd think most pesticides should take care of it. Check with your county agent, they should have the cure. Mike

    flyfshing on Bayou Corne

I've seen folks using leaders and tippets, but all I've ever used is about a 6'-8' piece of monofilament tied to the end of my fly line. It has worked well for me for somewhere around 50 years. What are the advantages of using the leader and tippet method as opposed to my method? Mike

Well, you pretty much did. The only difference was you mixed the sand with the varnish, while I sifted the sand on top of the varnish. Both methods should probably work. Mike

    Varnish Heresy?

After reading this, the thought comes to mind, what if? What if one applied a good final coat of varnish to the inside bottom of the boat and immediately used a sifter to sprinkle sand on top of the varnish? That could give a good non-slip surface. Mike

According to page 13 of this brochure they are legal in Louisiana. I'm not sure when they became illegal in Texas, but I remember seeing them in stores and dangling from trees on the lakes many years ago. I only pointed this out since Toledo Bend is on the border and lies withing both Texas and...

The Gun Bill That Failed , heer's why.

Chuck, I found your post a bit difficult to believe. Strike that, I found it extremely difficult to believe. It looks like another internet myth to me. So, I actually took the time to find the bill and read it. Guess what? It's not a myth. We are damned lucky the bill never passed and became...

    AM READY!

Guys, he is using polyester resin, not epoxy. Different animal. I'll admit I know nothing about it except what I've Googled since reading his post this morning. Google the terms "wax polyester resin" and you'll see what I'm seeing. Wish I could help, fenix1, but this is outside my realm of...
