What's spring? Looking out the windows at snow covered ground. Have gold finches, red wrens and red-winged blackbirds but no robins, yet. Temps have been mid 30's high and mid to high 20's at night. I really don't like this time of year: not enough snow to ski and just a little too chilly...

It's always sad to see the end of a happy era. I will miss the flight reports.

My wife liked my Luci so much, she bought two for herself. Sure are nice to have when the power goes off, which is wayyyy too frequent.

Not sure I know very many people older than Jack. It's sure tough being a youngster like me.

Welcome Owen. Most of the "goofiness" to which Jack refers comes from him (that's what makes him so lovable). Great group here with lots of knowledge

Just a few more gifts to wrap and then just sit and wait for bedtime. My daughter is here for a couple nights and the boys and their families will be here tomorrow. I'm sure looking forward to spending Christmas Day with family. Hope you all have a great day tomorrow. Merry Christmas to you all.

My Dad was a fruitcake affectionado, Claxton being his favorite. I remember stopping in Claxton, GA in 1960 on the way home from Florida. The car smelled like fruitcake from GA to PA (+a couple weeks). That's not a complaint - just a fond memory.

Wasn't able to access the site yesterday. Message I got was the 'time' on my computer was wrong and I needed to go to a site indicated in the message to correct the problem. Being the internet skeptic that I is, just ignored it altogether.

But that was your vote Jack and I thank you. And, I haven't joined the swim club since that trip, somebody musta put a hex on me.

I'm envious Jack! Our day was dreary, wet and cold - never hit 40 degrees (actually wore my ski jacket). At least we got to spend some time with family celebrating #2 son's 46 birthday.
