    SPRING HAS SPRUNG

What's spring? Looking out the windows at snow covered ground. Have gold finches, red wrens and red-winged blackbirds but no robins, yet. Temps have been mid 30's high and mid to high 20's at night. I really don't like this time of year: not enough snow to ski and just a little too chilly...

Tales from the Log of the Ruptured Duck

It's always sad to see the end of a happy era. I will miss the flight reports.

My wife liked my Luci so much, she bought two for herself. Sure are nice to have when the power goes off, which is wayyyy too frequent.

Slap this on your next build!

Not sure I know very many people older than Jack. It's sure tough being a youngster like me.

    Hi, everyone!

Welcome Owen. Most of the "goofiness" to which Jack refers comes from him (that's what makes him so lovable). Great group here with lots of knowledge

    Happy New Year

Just want to wish you all a safe, happy and prosperous New Year. May your boat rack always be full and you gear storage area too small. And most importantly, make wise choices as you usher in 2018:D

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Just a few more gifts to wrap and then just sit and wait for bedtime. My daughter is here for a couple nights and the boys and their families will be here tomorrow. I'm sure looking forward to spending Christmas Day with family. Hope you all have a great day tomorrow. Merry Christmas to you all.

    MERRY CHRISTMAS, AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS

My Dad was a fruitcake affectionado, Claxton being his favorite. I remember stopping in Claxton, GA in 1960 on the way home from Florida. The car smelled like fruitcake from GA to PA (+a couple weeks). That's not a complaint - just a fond memory.

    SITE. UNSECURE

Wasn't able to access the site yesterday. Message I got was the 'time' on my computer was wrong and I needed to go to a site indicated in the message to correct the problem. Being the internet skeptic that I is, just ignored it altogether.

    Punt / River Boat

I wasn't freckle faced nor did I have a cane pole, but... when I was 8, my grandparents rented some cottages on a lake just north of Huntsville, Ont., and took all their daughters, SIL's and grandkids on a fishing vacation. First morning my Dad, Grandpa and 2 uncles would head out in my uncle's...

    FREEDOM

Thanks for the reminder Jack. Regardless of all the things we think we have about which to complain, this is still a great country in which we live.

    PEDALING AROUND OUR NEIGHBORHOOD

I'm envious Jack! Our day was dreary, wet and cold - never hit 40 degrees (actually wore my ski jacket). At least we got to spend some time with family celebrating #2 son's 46 birthday.

    Wearin' out!

Procedure itself went well. The severe pain was gone when I woke up. Still have an occasional nagging ache once in a while but it's something I can endure. Recovery is taking longer than I anticipated. Still have not regained full dexterity in my right hand and fingers or strength in my...
