I bought a 16' 2X10 and ripped it down to 3/4. My rails are all one piece.

...for a Freedom 15? :D I am still young and pretty athletic for my size, but at 275#, am I too big for a Freedom 15? I am thinking about putting one together before the Chokoloskee Paddle-In. I just don't want to waste my time if I am just going to sink it. :shock:

Well I have been pretty busy lately. Sorry to say working and not paddling/fishing. I just loaded the pirogue for its first trip. I have to work tomorrow but I will be ready for Sunday. I can't believe how dang heavy it turned out and I still have some finishing to do. :? Learning experience...

I bought a new 1/4 sheet sander but I do have a random-orbit. I have found that the 1/4 sheet is better for removing lumps while the RO leaves a better finish. With my glassing skills I have been getting my moneys worth out of the 1/4 sheet. As far as tools go I am not lacking. I will repair...

The weather has been too crappy to get much done outside. I think I should have a yard sale and sell all the livingroom furniture. That's it. A nice tiled workshop will be nice. :D

Mike my boat is smaller than yours(14'6" X 27.5")but I think it might be heavier. :shock: :? If it quits raining for a while today I will try to weigh it.

OK so I bought some kevlar to wrap the ends of my pirogue to protect it from all the oysters in the area I frequent. The problem is I can't cut it! It's like this stuff is bulletproof. :D So what do I do to cut it? :? Hope the kevlar was a good idea anyway???

Still at it. I have been working on the fiberglassing. I also built the front and rear compartments. Still not quite sure which is which. The boss is getting tired of waiting on her boat.
