    JEM 14-29 Pirogue

Calling an "Emoticon foul" on you for that one John. That reply should have had a least a winking emoticon followed by 3 or 4 laughing emoticons. Hope you didn't anger the gods of boat building with your lack of emoticon etiquette  DM mike

    Paddling times and distances

Seems that my GPS usually says that my "average moving speed" is in the range of 2.0-3.2 MPH. More often right about the middle there. That range is a pretty good paddle all day, get from one place to my next place pace for me and the trips I do. When we plan our Everglades paddles we usually...

    Habanero Pepper Sauce

Buy a new blender too, nothing out of that blender will ever taste "right" after you have used it to puree a batch of habs. The oils from the peppers tend to get down into the soul of blenders, spice grinders & cutting boards. Better to have some things for "pepper use only". DM mike

    Gauley River rapids video tour

Heres a neat site that I got from the TVCC people, it is of the Gauley River in West Virgina. It has a map of the river, to the left side you can click on what rapid you want, shows the location on the map, description of the rapid, what lines to run and dangers to look out for. Also has a video...

    RE: Dutch Ovens

Coogs we must have different FedEx companies. We have 40+ MPH winds, pouring rain, tornado warnings going off all over the place and TS Fay coming. FedEx just dropped my camera off on my doorstep (in a plastic bag) at 3:00 PM. And the box wasn't even stamped FRAGILE. DM mike

    Started the Sasquatch 14 x 30 build.

If you take a small mixing cup or yogurt container and cut a V-shaped notch in it at the top. Works wonders for cleaning the excess epoxy off the squeegee. Lift the excess epoxy off the boat with the squeegee, run thru the v notch, all gets scraped off and goes to the bottom of the cup to use on...

    Home made hammock

You might also find that now a days, most state parks (if not all) here in Florida do not allow you to tie, nail, strap, hang or attach anything to or from the trees. No tarps, clothes lines, food bags, hammocks... Could make it hard on you hammock people to hang one up. Could always hang one...
