    HO Ho Ho

Posted this in my forum but it's enough of an adventure to share here. My son's appendix burst on the 21st and we had a lonnnng 2 days in the hospital. That canceled our trip to drive to see family 9 hours north in Indiana for Christmas. We had to scramble to put together Christmas tree...

    EZ Lo Mein

A follow up on the recipe... We've always just bought plain old pasta, not particular about the brand. Never thought there would be a big difference among brands. But there was a sale on Barilla Thin, Multigrain Pasta. I tell you what... it's almost a buck more but the taste difference is...

    My Gun

Wait what? The media exaggerated the truth to further their liberal agenda? That can't be true... decent honorable journalists that seek the objective truth don't do that. Next thing you know the government will make you show identification to pick up your prescription medication and vote. Well...

    Glades Skiff Build

I think once you attach the sides the rake will show up.

    Glades Skiff Build

I got lost in his his instructions but I'll give them another read through. I think if you flare out the sides more you'll get the reverse rake. Where the 30 angle cut ends .... does it look parallel to the aft of the bottom panel? You might need to put the sides on loosely to get it that way...

    Glades Skiff Build

Exactly. I fiddled with it on the computer. It's tough to go from unrolled panel to shaped boat (going from shaped boat to unrolled panel is just a click of the botton). I think you're on the right track. You can simulate this with a piece of paper and see how the final product gets shaped...

    Glades Skiff Build

I played with the concept a little before I got the book. I'll try and fiddle with it again now I have the book and the starting dimensions. But it' looks like you got it down. 8) Jack- to answer to question on the reverse rake: I think that's a product of the starting shape of the wood and...

    EZ Lo Mein

Super easy Lo Mein without having to buy any specialty food. Made it tonight and my son scarfed it! -1/2 pound spaghetti -3 tablespoons peanut oil, divided -2 tablespoons sesame oil -3 tablespoons soy sauce -1 teaspoon sugar -1 teaspoon cornstarch -1/2 teaspoon ground ginger -3 garlic...

Re: I don't know what the rich people were doing tonight but Mine is a combination of several different recipes I found. I tried to write it so you can do it in stages. I did mine in crock pot but you could do on stove top or dutch oven. I tired to time the meat reaching temperature about an...

I don't know what the rich people were doing tonight but....

Re: I don't know what the rich people were doing tonight but Similar to what I used Jack, but I used fresh squeezed orange and lime along with some garlic and spices. Next time I might add a little more lime or pineapple. I'll try and post the full recipe. Took me about 30 minutes to find...

I don't know what the rich people were doing tonight but....

Re: I don't know what the rich people were doing tonight but I did the pork in the crockpot as well. Unseasonably cool weather here... high of 70 and rainy this weekend. Little fall preview so I thought it would be a great time to try it. The pork slow cooked with the citrus juice and spices...

It was neat to see. Thing was a monster! I wish there was some history on the builders and such.

Stumbled upon this while we were in Rockingham County, NC. Thought you all might enjoy a bit of history. This boat was so big I couldn't get a good picture capturing all 40 feet! If anyone wants the original larger sized pictures, let me know.

    Pirogue History Question!

If the original pirogues were made from dug out logs, then panel count doesn't matter. The number of panels are used to try and duplicate the round shape of the log. One definition is focus on the bottom being flat and not much concern for side shape or overall size. Interestingly, pirogues...

    List of Trators..........

The tinfoil hat brigade people say President Pop Culture secretly wants to bring to life the New World Order and wants to be the guy running it. That might be a little far fetched but things like this make you wonder just a little.
