LMAO Jack, well I painted and put pointy ends on them now, so at least if I end up wet I'll be doing so with a bit of style :) On reading Joey's
gadgets, gizmos, time and labor saving devices. This might've been better posted there.
Wasn't sure of right place to post this and didn't wanna knock Mick's Mary thing outta the news on account of that's more important. So I stuck it in here.
Was paddling the Laker the other day and after a coupla hours got to being uncomfortable (Probly on account of I still haven't really...
Ron ya can still keep a low profile on the deck. Just put a coupla holes 1ana 1/2" diameter in the deck poke yer big toes outta the holes and use them as tie down points for yer hatch cover :P
I thought you was s'posed to go around, or between rocks?
Will watch the repair with interest though. Probly gonna need to know one day... I s'pose I'm a bit of a cautious type and less likely to venture amongst boulders, but them rocks can be sneaky little buggers.
Coupla thoughts ocurred to me. Dw said"The easier way would be to buy some vertical bamboo flooring" Vertical flooring  ? Does that go with horizontal walling? Sorry Dw :D
Second thought and less silly one. If ya cut a slot in the bamboo and insert blade into slot then I'd think you...
Wow! was expecting someone to say "Don't do it" but seem to have established a epic saga. Mick the reason you didn't think of it is probly 'cos yer not a cheapskate like what I am 8)
I know it can be bent (probly a steam or time/pressure thing) 'cos of the furniture useage. In some of my build...
Thoughts turned to building me a paddle. My plastic/aluminium (yes that's how it's really spelled :P ) looks too 'bought'. My thoughts are generally dangerous if allowed to come to fruition unchecked. Anyone had any thoughts/misgivings about using bamboo as a shaft. Seems to me it's light strong...
Thanks once again Mick, Bear and Dig.
Jack: There are many foam roof carrying systems on the net.
http://www.orsracksdirect.com/riverside ... r-kit.html
and from cometsports: "For about fifty $ you can get a roof top carrying kit . It consist of two foam pads and four tie downs. They are made...
Thanks guys I really do appreciate the positive/supportive comments. Jack I done good hey :) Just got to prevent Mick from taking TOO close a look at it 8) But! It will do exactly what its intended for and that's the main thing. I learn't good and am better prepared if  I do it again...
I don't know what made me click on this article. From the dates it's been here forever and yet I'd never noticed it before. I'm sure glad I did. Let's face it, all day paddles are just gonna be fun right...
True Matt but I have a feeling that can change. Photobucket is in a better mood today
Finally
And a bit more detail on the tie down (bet some of you guys are having a fit looking at this tie down set up :D
Jus spent two hours uploading six pics to photobucket and only two of them arrived there. This first one looks like a really scarey way to load a kayak on top of a very small car but I can assure you it was as solid as a rock and I won't hesitate to take it on the highway @ 100kph, that's 60mph...
Have to correct an earlier error (It's ok I"m used to errors :? ) I said I'd used "Way too much epoxy". On re-reading the instructions it seems I was looking at Option one which is a taped boat and requires 5.7 Litres of epoxy. I actually used 7 litres, but built option two which is fully...
Hey Mick thanks for that, with the seat I findally decided I'm gonna go with recycling an old seat/backsupport from my other boat and just add whatever padding or height underneath it. I don't believe I need any added strength there. This will mean its removable and the boat lighter. But a huge...
