    My Strip Pirogue

I thought that is what those might be but I thought also perhaps they went to another project. Is the bottom strips also?

    My Strip Pirogue

I see there are no ribs on the bottom. Did you use something else to form the shape of the boat?

    Hi! New Builder

So here's the maiden voyage of the Nihil Solliciti. My son and I were both able to paddle around in it. I was amazed the number of bass boaters who came up to me to tell me how cool it was that I built it. Made my week. The one adjustment I'm going to make is take out the seats completely or put...

    Hi! New Builder

That is probably true but a lot also has a lot to do with my lack of ability or lack thereof which I'm working on developing of working with wood, saws, etc.. :)

    Hi! New Builder

Definitely planning on it. Just wanted to get my feet wet first so I kind of know what I'm doing. Helped my youngest son build his own bedframe last month so he would take ownership of it. :)

    Hi! New Builder

Do you all use a jigsaw for cutting your plywood? What blade do you use because the wood blade I used on this plywood seemed to have too rough of a cut?

    Hi! New Builder

Thanks for the encouragement. I need to build at least one more 14 ft. pirogue and 3 8-10ft pirogues to get my whole family in the water. LOL. With the recent weather down south, perhaps I should be building an ark. :)

    Hi! New Builder

Thanks. Now I have a chine board over the seams, so I guess I need to fillet the the seams on both sides of the chine board?

    Hi! New Builder

Well I must need to get better technique on glassing a boat. Put water in the bottom of the boat last evening and there was way too much water coming out the sides. Maybe I need to get some Flex Seal unless someone has a better idea.

    Hi! New Builder

Interesting. So the ureaformaldahyde glue works pretty good in the water?

    Hi! New Builder

Hey! It worked! Still need to add seats, put on rub rails and varnish the boat. I'm thinking about epoxing the whole bottom first though to prevent water rot.

    Hi! New Builder

Let's see if using this photosite works so starting off with some plywood. Going to cut both boards at same time. Drawing my lines. Used a drywall t-square. Really good with 4x8 plywood Lofting the sides Using a pvc pipe and nails to draw the lines Putting it together. Bottom on...

    Hi! New Builder

This is what I got from the company: [email protected] Aug 8 to me Thank you for your correspondence and interest in DAP Products. The adhesive that you are referencing is "Resorcinol" glue. Unfortunately, DAP discontinued their line of the product about 5 years ago. The Borden Chemical...
