    Building an Abenaki

Tx just a thought for a future build that would be quicker and lighter but also a lot of fun to build. SOF / Skin On Frame Canoe. A good referance to start said journey is Kudzu Craft run by Jeff Horton. I just finished a SOF lake kayak that is 18'2" and weighes all of 30lbs. Woodman on the...

    Planning new powered pirogue

Bob welcome to Arkansas! You should come down some time and visit Lakes Ouchita and Degray. They are surrounded by National Forest! No houses!

    Joint Build Question

I'm not sure about that first question but the wax paper repells the epoxy resin from RAKA that I used just fine all by itself. No lube needed.

    NUCANOE

There is also the option of just building something from one of the plans at JEM Craft that better suits your needs!!! Keep in mind that the higher your bum is off the water the less stable this craft will be. Lower COG = more stable. Besides building your own is very satisfying.

    New Plank Pirogue Duckin Boat.

GC if you are still reading and posting how did your build go? I have found a sorce in Sheridan AR which is 45 min from my house and am considering building some skin on frame boats with it as well as possibly some strip boats using cyprus due to it's weight, stregnth and rott resistance.

Painting used oil on a wood boat hull?

It would be quite messy and you would have an oil slick following you everywhere you paddle. Great for fence posts but very bad for boats.

    Strip pirogue forms?

Every time I see a wooden boat it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling and Chucks and Woodmans boats are no exception! The beauty of wood is always a spceial thing to behold.

    Small Paddlers

I am building a Yostwerks Sea Tour 17EXP for myself but I have a great delima. What should I build for a smaller paddler say 5'5" and 125lbs with minimal paddeling experiance? I am questioning the displacement weight being enough for the boat to track properly. I was thinking along the lines of...
