Our Masonic Lodge #252 in Okemos is participating in a program for school kids. Bikes for Books will provide a bike and helmet for a boy and a girl at one of our local schools.
The school provides a list of books that 4th and 5th gradets have to read. Parents and teachers monitor and verify the accomplishment. Each kid that reads all books sends in an entry. Tomorrow, we collect them, and next week we announce winners. Two winners will receive a bike and helmet.
A good friend of mine is running this program for us. Mike is doing a bang up job, and we're proud of him.
